The ultimate aim is to help our young people achieve their potential, to equip them with tools to become effective leaders in the future and to make a positive contribution to society. To this end, our business aims and objectives for the next five years are to: Increase the impact we are making in those boroughs in which we are currently working Extend the geographical scope of our provision, according to need Increase commitment from existing partners – statutory, community and voluntary organisations plus the business community Secure funding to sustain PRESET's core costs and activities Increase PRESET's research function Continue to improve management and evaluation systems Ensure robustness of internal controls PRESET remains committed to improving our service delivery and meeting our targets, whilst not forsaking our young people, who remain at the heart of all we do. None of these goals for PRESET’s future will be possible without funding. This can be achieved by developing and improving our provisions and building strong partnerships as crucial tools to meeting that challenge. The real challenge of the coming years is to secure funding for our projects. We remain perennially confident that people and organisations that are aware of, the adverse personal and social issues both facing our young people and the communities that they live in, also share our belief in developing young people’s lives into a brighter future. To achieve our goals of continuing to help develop the young people of this country it is of the utmost importance that charities such as PRESET receive the much needed funding to secure these worthwhile aims. Looking to the future.... These new premises, which will be in an area with good communications, will increase the visibility of PRESET within the local community. In addition, by creating office space for staff, which is designed for the job, this will enable the organisation to operate with greater efficiency, thus freeing up additional resources to be spent on the new projects. With premises that fully meet all disabled access requirements PRESET will be able to reach both a wider range of young people, and potential staff. PRESET will be able to increase the number of young people it assists with mentoring, leadership and employability projects from the current 360 to an estimated 550 per annum. In addition, there will be an expected increase in the register of Community Mentoring team from 210 to 250. PRESET will continue to engage with and build partnerships with housing associations, developers, local authorities, communities and other charities.Within this document it has been shown that social inclusion and real opportunities are of vital importance to ensure that young people can feel they are a valuable asset to society. The projects which PRESET delivers offer realistic opportunities for young people to engage themselves in positive activities. This in turn will help them towards achieving their ambitions. |
